Every artist loses gigs or fees because they don't know how promoters think. This is how I learned to make money on tour as an independent artist and stop playing for free.
I didn't have an agent, and I had barely 1k followers on social.
I started with a gig in NYC. And a friend named Dan.
Dan knew a promoter in Boston. I asked him to introduce me while I was in the area. He did.
I sent him a DM:
"Hey, I'm in NYC Oct 10–14. Got a slot available for Boston. $800 LANDED."
7 hours later the promoter said yes.
That gig turned into another. And what started as a one-off while in New York turned into a 5-city tour. All it took was a few small changes in how I thought about things.
This playbook is everything I learned. And how you can use it.
